Understanding the ALMC Scoring System

Our proprietary ALMC (American Liver & Metabolic Center) scoring algorithm evaluates liver health risk across 4 clinical domains, producing a comprehensive score from 0-10 points. This evidence-based approach helps identify individuals who may benefit from professional liver health evaluation.

1

Metabolic Domain

Max 3.0 pts

Evaluates BMI, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease history, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Metabolic factors are the leading cause of fatty liver disease.

2

Alcohol Domain

Max 2.0 pts

Assesses alcohol consumption patterns. Heavy drinking (>14 drinks/week for men, >7 for women) significantly increases liver disease risk.

3

Blood Tests Domain

Max 2.0 pts

Considers liver enzyme levels (ALT) and FIB-4 score, which estimates liver fibrosis based on age, platelets, and liver enzymes.

4

Elastography Domain

Max 3.0 pts

Estimates liver steatosis (fat content) and fibrosis (scarring) levels. This domain carries the highest weight due to its clinical significance.
